Climate advocacy & engagement

We believe a movement toward a global climate mindset will take all of us participating in restructuring the way the world works. Staying active in the community by attending and hosting meetups and networking events, writing blogs, supporting action and activists, and resourcing new projects is part of the change Popcorn aims to make and inspire in others.

Technical

Consultancy

Planning takes a pivotal role in a product hardware businesses. Many new ventures try to manage it on their own, often blowing budgets and timelines due to inexperience in the complexities of hardware design and build.

Our experience in the business of design, planning, building, and execution of R&D programs can help you deliver your project to market on time and on-budget.

Hardware also requires a depth of knowledge, talent, and experience to ensure the project can meet its stakeholder’s expectations. Using top talent makes it much more likely to reach the target.

Whether it is a new technology or revamping something old, Popcorn’s network of professionals in design, engineering, and manufacturing fields can help you reach sustainability.

Ventures

In numerous ventures we have consulted, started, operated, and co-built, we have tested and developed many of our tools and concepts.

We now look to help build the next generation of camelcorns, ventures that can withstand the harsh conditions and can survive the future.

Our latest venture in seaweed, Sea Green draws upon our 25 years of trial and error in entrepreneurship, and includes our experiences from being part of numerous startups. From Critical’s first capital raise, to oDocs who won an international award in 2016 for the Best Startup in Social Impact, we apply these learning to the benefit of our future partners and investors.

popcorn intro

Popcorn was an idea born out of the will to make the world a better place through invention.

Ideas are what separate humans from the rest of the natural world.

Ideas allowed us to survive, then evolve into the society we are today. Our ability to solve problems, craft tools, invent solutions, and organise ourselves. Ironically, human ideas are why the climate crisis now exists.

Inventions like the internal combustion engine, agriculture, plastics, were then coupled with ideas around corporations and economic growth, and now at being replicated at an unsustainable scale. These human ideas are scientifically proven to have caused global warming, resource depletion, and mass extinction of the natural world.

We must get away from extractive technologies, pollution, and unsustainable growth models as the norm. Humans need to restore balance to our atmosphere, natural resources, and habitats-which we depend on to survive, and do it fast.

Our new ideas now need to be focused around surviving our old ones.
